Duty, tariffs and landed cost

What tariff applies to Australian rock lobster exported to Japan?

Under JAEPA, Australian rock lobster (HS 0306) enters Japan at 0% import duty. Japan's consumption tax (8% reduced rate for food) still applies on the customs value. Use the calculator above for an FOB-based estimate.

Is there import duty on Australian seafood to China under ChAFTA?

ChAFTA has phased most Australian seafood lines to 0% tariff. China still applies import VAT (currently around 9% on these goods). Confirm the line for your exact HS code before pricing.

Does Hong Kong charge tariffs on imported seafood?

No. Hong Kong is a free port and levies no general import duty or VAT/GST on seafood. You still need correct export documentation from the origin side.

What is landed cost?

Landed cost is the total cost to get goods to the destination: the FOB value plus import duty, taxes and usually freight and insurance. This tool estimates duty and VAT on the FOB value; add freight and insurance for a full CIF-based landed cost.
